In demand: furniture with a story to tell

Many of the exhibitors at this year’s “imm cologne 2017” international interiors displayed unique featured furniture with an unusual story behind it. Designer Sebastian Herkner has reinterpreted traditional “Momposino” weaving from the Caribbean coast region of Colombia and designed a series of distinctive chairs. Another manufacturer’s chair collection has seats woven from genuine bungee cords, which offer perfect comfort – elastic but not too yielding. In the kitchen, materials with a story to tell are in demand: for instance, cabinets made with timbers from old barns, bridges, millwheels or floorboards. If you have a bright idea for a piece of furniture that tells a story, talk to your Häfele Studio Partner, who will be pleased to help you turn your vision into reality. Click Here.
