Sky blue and pink – the “in” shades for 2016

Pantone’s Colour of the Year 2016 is a blending of two shades, “Serenity” and “Rose Quartz”. With winter now behind us, this tranquil sky blue and soft pink bring a dash of joyful spring colour to any home. Both these pastel shades are perfect for furniture, home accessories, carpets, upholstery, and even walls. Pale blue and pink are particularly effective when paired, but also work well in combination with other pastels, stone grey, and brilliant copper, creating a relaxing, secure ambience. Create your personal interpretation of the trend at home by adding copper-coloured handles by Häfele to a sky blue chest of drawers or sideboard, for instance. The Pantone Colour Institute chose these welcoming shades in combination as its Colour of the Year because they reflect “connection and wellness, as well as a soothing sense of order and peace.”
